Batch Brewing Co.
This bare bones brewery on Marrickville’s Sydenham Road is keeping things beautifully simple with a brewery out the back of their warehouse, and a tasting bar out front. Their brewery and reclaimed pallet bar occupy a big, breezy space – an ex-mechanic’s shop – with a few comfy couches and some tall tables. Find a pew, grab a $5 jar, and watch the world go by through the open roller door.
Founding partners (and former home-brewers) Andrew Fineran and Chris Sidwa brew a host of regular beers – including an awesome American Pale Ale – but they switch up with a new limited-release batch range every few weeks.
On a hot day, a glass of the Alice American-style wheat beer is just the ticket, but if you like your beers dark and mysterious try the Campos milk stout made with locally roasted coffee. In the big double door fridges they have longnecks and growlers chilled and ready to go home with you for round two, or you can settle in, grab a snack on Saturdays from the food stall outside or order in a pizza and try the lot.
