Rocks Brewing Co.
A stone’s throw from the Grounds of Alexandria and Salt Meats Cheese, the Rocks Brewing Co is a relative newcomer to one of Sydney’s most artisanally-inspired suburbs. Established in 2008 as a gypsy outfit by fifth and sixth-generation convict descendants Mark Fethers and Simon Osborn, they set up shop in Alexandria in 2014.
In the mornings families set up camp in the brewery bar for post-basketball practice breakfast burritos and milkshakes. But once beer o’clock strikes (you have to wait till 10am for a beer) the big open space and outdoor area fills with people keen for ice cold brews poured straight from the source and burgers, hot wings and nachos to accompany them.
Rocks serve their beers by the pint, by the half or by the paddle. If they have their fresh and flavoursome Biergarten Kellerbier on tap you should order it immediately. Or for something a little punchier go for the malty, slightly toasty Boxer Red Ale. Prepping to stay a while? Furnish your drinking hand with a Hangman Pale Ale or Governor Golden Ale… and let the good times roll.
